In 1998 , Mayor André- Charles Blanc and its general secretary André Taddéi acquired for the city of Théoule -sur -Mer a beautiful and prestigious collection valued at 700,000 francs , of inkwells, writing cases and pen cases dating nineteenth and early twentieth century to a Senator of Jura (north east of France) , Pierre Jeambrun .More than 1,000 pieces, including 400 to 500 full inkwells, earthenware, porcelain , pewter, bronze , wood, silver plate and gold , crystal, opal , onyx carved , ground embellished with floral decorations , forest , wildlife , faces and busts anonymous and famous , naturalistic performances , architectural and symbolic .

These writing instruments are works of art inspired and inspiring .

The creation of a museum of writing was inspired of "La Fête de l'Ecriture" dedicated to writing in all forms of correspondence and shares, calligraphy , poetry , graphic , literature , practical,
created in 1996 until 2007.
